On December 16, the presidents of Mongolia and the Russian Federation will sign documents on border checkpoints, customs activities, and will also sum up the development of bilateral relations – they will celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2021. Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkhiin Battsetseg stated this in an interview with Izvestia on the eve of the visit of the country’s President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to Moscow.
“It is expected that a joint declaration will be adopted on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Russian Federation, as well as documents signed in such areas of cooperation as border checkpoints, customs activities, intellectual property protection and cooperation in the field of culture,” – clarified the minister.
This will be the first visit of Ukhgaagiin Khurelsukh as head of state to Russia – he took the presidency following the elections on June 9, 2021. Prior to this, the politician had visited the Russian Federation several times as the Prime Minister of Mongolia.
