A 30-year-old German who lives in the Schärding district was beaten up in the middle of Schärding’s town square on January 27th. He was just about to buy cigarettes from a vending machine when he was suddenly attacked by two men. Witnesses observed that the two then jumped into a dark Audi with Schärdinger license plates and fled.

The suspected perpetrators have now been identified: a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old from the district were questioned by the police and confessed to the attack. Motive: mutual insults, including via social media. This is likely to have spilled over from the virtual world into the real world.
