The Styrian attacked and injured a 59-year-old acquaintance with an ax and two knives in the Geidorf district of Graz on Friday evening. The victim suffered a cut to the neck and facial area. The suspect fled after the crime. The search over the weekend turned out negatively. Officers seized what were believed to be the suspect’s weapons at the scene.
Investigations confirm: It was deliberate
Further investigations confirmed the suspicion that the 43-year-old had deliberately attacked his acquaintance. There was currently no information as to the motive, but it could be “related to a health impairment,” according to the police. The public prosecutor’s office ordered the arrest on suspicion of attempted murder.

The suspect was on the run until Tuesday. In Pörtschach, apparently after a tip-off, the handcuffs clicked for the 43-year-old. His car was spotted near the train station around 2:30 p.m. All patrols and the Cobra emergency services arrived and arrested the man.
