Students with toy weapons triggered the Cobra operation near Graz

A road user saw the two and alerted the police. They appeared at the nearby school with several patrols and Cobra officers and secured it. In the meantime, the two students realized what had caused their handling, reported to a teacher and handed him the toy gun.

Witness called the police

At around 7:30 a.m. in Laßnitzhöhe, a road user saw two boys walking on the sidewalk towards the middle school and apparently handling a pistol. The witness called the police by telephone. Since the two were apparently students from the nearby middle school, the school administration asked the students and teaching staff to stay in class. Cobra officers searched the building.

Instructive conversation

At around 8:40 a.m. the two 13-year-olds reported to their class teacher. They gave him what police said was a harmless toy gun that they had previously purchased at a supermarket. The operation was then canceled. There was no criminal offense. An instructive conversation was held with the two boys in the presence of their parents.
