It was around 6:40 p.m. when the sirens wailed on Wednesday in the municipality of Neukirchen an der Enknach (Braunau am Inn district): something even more unexplained was happening in a wooden barn in which wood chips, wheels from agricultural equipment and straw were stored Cause fire broke out.

As the police announced on Thursday, a neighbor noticed the fire in the currently closed farm and raised the alarm. Alert level two was declared and nine fire departments from the area responded. They didn’t have to fight the flames alone: seven farmers came to the aid of the emergency services with tractors and manure tanks to ensure a supply of fire-fighting water.
Considerable property damage
Rapid action prevented the flames from spreading to other buildings. Nevertheless, part of the roof and side wall, as well as the items stored therein, fell victim to the flames. The material damage cannot yet be precisely quantified, but it is likely to be considerable. The cause of the fire must now be clarified by an expert and police investigators.
