Manuel Feller is only in ninth place after the first round of the Ski World Cup slalom on Sunday in Aspen (USA). The Tyrolean is 1.55 seconds behind the Frenchman Clement Noel, who is in the lead ahead of the Swiss Loic Meillard (+0.27 seconds) and the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen (+1.07). The German Linus Strasser is sixth (+1.37); he is currently 204 points behind Feller’s opponent for the slalom crystal.
The start of the race was postponed by an hour due to more than half a meter of fresh snow. The organizers managed to clear the slope. The slalom took place under fair conditions, Feller opened with number one. “I didn’t quite get along, the swings were a bit too long. I have to analyze and change the set-up. Attack, there is nothing else,” he said regarding the second round in the ORF TV interview (9 p.m CET/live ORF 1).
Fabio Gstrein was 1.60 seconds behind, Johannes Strolz 1.83, both were close to the top 10. Dominik Raschner (+2.36), Michael Matt (+2.93) and Joshua Sturm (+3.12) were further back. Adrian Pertl was eliminated.
