The news came after the US Supreme Court rejected a Colorado ruling that excludes the current candidate from the primary elections.

The justices unanimously revoked the December 19 decision of the highest court of Colorado to take out trump of the state’s Republican primary ballot on Tuesday, after considering that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution It disqualified him from holding public office again.
“We conclude that states can disqualify persons who hold or attempt to hold state office. But states are not empowered by the Constitution to apply Article 3 to federal offices, especially the presidency,” the court’s unsigned opinion stated.
Trump is the main contender for the Republican nomination to confront the democratic president Joe Biden on November 5. His only rival is former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
“Great win for the US!!!”wrote trump on his social media platform immediately after the ruling.
Trump was also excluded from the vote in Maine and Illinois based on the 14th Amendment, but those decisions were put on hold pending the ruling of the Supreme Court in the Colorado case.
Trump received votes against for being a threat to democracy
The eligibility of trump had been challenged in court by a group of six Colorado voters – four Republicans and two independents – who presented him as a threat to democracy and sought to hold him responsible for the attack on the Capitol perpetrated by his supporters.
The failure occurred before “Super Tuesday”, the most important day of the presidential primary process.
