A 49-year-old from Aspach (Braunau district) was busy splitting wood with her mother on Monday afternoon. The woman operated the splitting machine, the hatchet of which is activated by a foot pedal. For reasons unknown, the woman suddenly grabbed the hatchet and was seriously injured. Her mother provided first aid and the woman was taken to UKH Salzburg by C6 rescue helicopter.
