Rudi Hemetsberger (Greens), mayor of Attersee and member of the state parliament, accuses the state government of a failed energy policy. The gas drilling in St. Georgen, which has been criticized by many, is only five kilometers away from the Saurüssel, where a wind turbine project is not supported by the black-blue government majority. “Gas is obviously being prioritized, while at the same time wind power is being blocked,” says Hemetsberger. “It’s very irritating and gives a very crooked look.”
Hemetsberger describes the planned gas drilling in St. Georgen as an “affront to everyone who wants to push forward the energy transition with great commitment. The minimum would be that the efforts surrounding the wind power project are finally appreciated, supported and brought to fruition.”
