They denounce the prime minister for offering work in exchange for sexual favors

A scandal broke out in Peru with the head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Alberto Otárola. It all started after a complaint was made public against him for giving a job to a close woman in exchange for “sexual favors.”

A Peruvian journalistic program was responsible for releasing an audio in which the prime minister can be heard insisting to a woman – identified as Yazire Pinedo– to hold a meeting. The woman, whom Otárola calls “love” in the fragment, refuses to hold the meeting because she is not feeling well, to which the prime minister responds by asking for her resume.

The television program “Panorama” was the one that publicly broadcast the audio, which caused a huge scandal in Peru. In this sense, the Peruvian press maintains that the conversation broadcast would demonstrate that Otárola helped Pinedo get a job in the State.

After the dissemination of the controversial audio, The Peruvian Congress called for the resignation or dismissal of Alberto Otárola. While, The Prosecutor’s Office investigates the prime minister and two other officials for the irregular hiring of Yazire Pinero.

In the midst of this, the president Dina Boluarte He asked the official, who must return from Canada to his country after attending a mining investment forum, for explanations. Through a statement, the president referred to the controversy and expressed: “This office will await your return to the country in order to request pertinent explanations and make decisions that correspond”.

“The government categorically rejects any type of action that goes against the interests of the nation and, in this specific case, any possible irregular hiring in exchange for favors”he added.

In a post on Twitter, Alberto Otárola has denied the accusations and indicated that he will clarify the details of the complaint once he sets foot on Peruvian soil. “As President Dina Boluarte has ordered, I advance my return to Peru,” she stated.

The prime minister has also expressed his understanding of the seriousness of the political situation and has reiterated that has not committed any illegal act.
