Apple has postponed indefinitely the return of its employees to office hours. The reason for this decision was the increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 in the United States. This was announced on Wednesday, December 15, by Bloomberg.

The head of the company, Tim Cook, sent a letter to employees saying that they will be able to work remotely until a date “still to be determined.”

Earlier it was planned that the return to the offices will take place on February 1, 2022.

At the same time, Cook noted that the offices remain open and many Apple employees come to them to work. He also strongly encouraged workers to get vaccinated and boosted, stating that “this is by far the best way to keep you and your environment safe.”

Apple has postponed its plans to return to office work several times in the past.

According to Johns Hopkins University, as of December 14, the death toll in the United States due to complications from COVID-19 has exceeded 800,000 since the start of the pandemic. The worst situation is in the states of Arizona and California. So, in Los Angeles County during the pandemic, 1 million 548 thousand 157 cases of COVID-19 were registered, in Maricopa County – 828 549.
