Four fire departments were called to an unusual operation on Tuesday afternoon: a child was stuck in the branches of a tree at a height of around two to three meters. The six-year-old boy slipped while climbing. His leg got so badly stuck in a fork of a branch that he couldn’t move forward or back.
Walkers and friends of the boy raised the alarm. In addition to the Pasching volunteer fire department, the height rescue bases FF Axberg and FF Alkoven, as well as the FF Leonding, were also ordered to the scene with the turntable ladder to free the boy from his predicament.
“That was another blessing in disguise”
“We used a ladder to secure the little man, whose foot was already slightly injured. Using muscle power, we were able to quickly free the boy and hand him over to the rescue team – that was another blessing in disguise,” says Dominik Wögerbauer, head of operations at the FF Pasching, about him Mission that was over after just over an hour.

The boy was cared for by Red Cross paramedics. Apparently the little patient survived the incident with minor injuries.
