Thalheimer swimmers won gold twice in Doha

Alexander Jaksche won four medals, two gold.

The trip to Qatar’s capital Doha paid off for Welser Gymnastics Club (WTV) swimmer Alexander Jaksche. The 25-year-old from Thalheim once again showed his skills and became two-time world champion in the 50 and 100 meter butterfly at the Masters World Championships, even achieved an Austrian record in the 100 meter distance and won silver in the 50 meter backstroke and bronze two more medals in the 50 meter freestyle.

Also at the start in Doha was WTV swimmer Julia Breitwieser, who was happy about her first top 10 placement. She achieved tenth place in the 50 meter backstroke.

The youngsters from the Wels gymnastics club were also able to impress last weekend.

Successful offspring

At the Trauner Sharks Trophy, twelve athletes made it onto the victory podium. Stefan Mayr-Huber was once again outstanding with four wins, Sara Marinovic had two wins.

Tabea Bruckner, Julia Skaroupka, Paul Hofer, Andreas Rudelstorfer and Felix Weigert also each won a competition. In addition to those mentioned, Marilena Göpfert, Felizia Katzensteiner, Kitti Kiss, Lara Marinovic and Emil Radinger also won a total of 35 medals in silver and bronze.
