He Minister of the Environment, Robert Bouvier, announced this Wednesday the launch of the award that will recognize actions that encourage sustainability as a way to mitigate the problems linked to the environment by educational centers, national companies, municipal governments and civil society organizations, to which they can apply on the official government website.

In this fourth edition, those who in the last three years have implemented experiences that focus on the search for alternatives and sustainable solutions that balance development and sustainability will be evaluated. environmental care, as well as the promotion of good practices for the protection of natural resources.

“There are many people doing things in the country and we want, through this award, to make visible all that they are doing,” said the minister. Bouvier at a press conference.

Along the same lines, he explained that although the award is symbolic and consists of a handmade trophy for each category, the recognition by the Ministry of Environment It adds value to initiatives and attracts the attention of new people interested in the topic.

In this edition, individual projects will no longer be awarded to joint projects, in an attempt by the portfolio to honor collective efforts in the field.

The president of the National Development Agency (ANDE), Carmen Sánchezpointed out that the issue is “one of the strategic guidelines” of the Agency, since they understand that there is no dichotomy between economic benefit and care of the environment by companies.

“About 15 years ago we saw that the production that generated the most profit was the one that damaged the environmentluckily that has been changing,” said Sánchez.
