International Women’s Day is already today, March 8th, but cabaret artist Sonja Pikart will not be appearing until tomorrow, Saturday, at 8 p.m. with her program “Half Human” in the Akku cultural center: a room, a woman, a few disco ball shards. Sonja Pikart stands at the window and tries to look serious. Since 4 a.m. she has been exercising, meditating and smoking – both tofu and evil spirits. Now she wonders how many world wars have already arisen because some feel-good app told a fascist: “Everything can be there. You are enough.” A fantastic sci-fi journey into your own soul begins.
Sonja Pikart was born in Germany and emigrated to Austria. Trained here as an actress, the award-winning actress soon ended up in cabaret.
OÖN literature expert Christian Schacherreiter will present his new novel “Bruckner Doesn’t Die” on Tuesday, March 12th at 8 p.m. In it he combines the form of the artist’s biography with the classic Bildungsroman, because in the years in which Jakob works on his groundbreaking work, he also has to set the course for his own life: ideologically, artistically, professionally – and last but not least in matters of love.
Jakob, this is Jakob Weinberger. The young music student experienced the premiere of Anton Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony on December 18, 1892 in Vienna. Overwhelmed by this completely new sound world for him, it was clear after that evening: he wanted to become Bruckner’s first and only biographer. He meticulously collects everything he finds about the master’s life and work.
