Union Gurten only managed one win from the last five games against UVB Vöcklamarkt. They have been ahead of the Hausruckviertel team in the table for years, but they recently lost out in direct duels three times in a row. That should change today (7 p.m.). “Even though we face one of the strongest teams in the league at home in Vöcklamarkt and the results against them haven’t been right recently, we want to take the positive flow with us,” says Gurten coach Peter Madritsch. Thanks to a 1-0 win against ASK Klagenfurt at the start of the second half of the season, the Gurtners were able to establish themselves in the top half of the table for the time being. A tough challenge now awaits his team on the artificial turf in Vöcklamarkt, said Madritsch. “It will be a derby in which anything can happen. In addition, with his offensive power, Vöcklamarkt will do everything in its power not to slip backwards.”
The young Vikings Ried, however, want to take the next step forward today. After the win against Gleisdorf (2:1), the second team from SV Ried is visiting Deutschlandsberg today (7 p.m.).

With a 2-1 away win in Mondsee, Upper Austrian league team Ostermiething got off to a perfect start in the second half of the season and were even able to reduce the gap to league leaders Oedt to two points. Now coach Christoph Mühllechner’s team wants to get their next win in today’s home game against St. Valentin (7:30 p.m.). “It will be a completely different game than last week against Mondsee, which was characterized by a lot of offensive actions on both sides. I assume that St. Valentin will concentrate more on defense and wait for counterattacks,” says Mühllechner. The Ostermiethinger table neighbors from Weißkirchen will be hosting SPG Friedburg/Pöndorf tomorrow, Saturday (3 p.m.). With a win in front of their own crowd, coach Ernst Öbster’s team could take another step towards the top half of the table after their opening win against Dietach (2:1).
