The “50 plus” celebrated its premiere in Ried 15 years ago. At the first edition of the new trade fair there was still no huge rush of visitors. Times have changed quickly, and the event has since developed into a popular trade fair with a variety of topics for the whole family.
The colorful mix with the offers of culinary delights, 50 plus and family happiness hits the nerve of the times, the OÖN will be there as a media partner at the Rieder trade fair spring next Saturday and Sunday (each from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
“A popular meeting place”
The anticipation is great not only among the exhibitors, but also among those responsible at Messe Ried. “The trade fair is a popular meeting place for a diverse audience. The time spent during the spring trade fair is particularly long. No matter whether you would like to indulge in culinary delights, are looking for action for the whole family or the Innviertler game days with 500 free games to try out want to visit: “All of this and much, much more is offered in the seven exhibition halls,” says exhibition director Helmut Slezak.
Fair for connoisseurs
The number of visitors to the culinary exhibitors has been particularly high in recent years. The Genussland Upper Austria has more than 25 partner companies on site, and at various cooking shows, trade fair guests can learn a few special cooking tips from the Innviertel award-winning chefs or TV chef Elfriede Schachinger. “The Genussland has now been around for 20 years as an initiative of the state of Upper Austria. We want to support food producers in marketing and introduce and explain regional foods to consumers. We have never been part of ‘Guten Appetit’ with so many producers before,” says Josef Lehner, marketing director of Genussland Upper Austria.
Family concerts included
Families get their money’s worth in exhibition halls 12, 13 and 14. Entry to the spring trade fair also includes a visit to the children’s concert in the No Worries Hall on each day. “Ratzfatz” will perform on Saturday at 4 p.m., and children’s songwriter Bernhard Fibich will be coming to Ried on Sunday (also 4 p.m.). At his concert, children and adults are playfully involved in the concert.
