On Sunday in a week, Wels will be the city of runners again. The team around the Wels New Year’s Eve run organizer Stefan Leitner has come up with some new ideas for the Wels half marathon.
In order to offer the athletes enough space, the finish area is moving in front of the town hall. “The beautiful city park in front of the town hall offers a great ambience for the finish of the 31st Wels Half Marathon. We are pleased to welcome over 1,500 runners to the finish here again,” says Leitner. The start remains on Volksgartenstrasse. The running event will again feature competitions over three different distances. The eww Power Run has the shortest route over seven kilometers. After a flat run, the runners are allowed to turn towards the finish. In the Fitomenal.at Fun Run over 14 kilometers, the athletes complete two laps on one of the fastest running routes in Europe. The Rotax half marathon covers the prestigious 21.1 kilometers and takes place over three laps along the Traun. A finisher’s medal and a rich finisher’s buffet await all athletes at the finish.
The start of the Wels Half Marathon will take place on March 16th at 5 p.m. As part of the start number distribution, all athletes and interested parties are invited to the lecture entitled “You can do what you want” by Wolfgang Fasching.
