From now on, new parents in Mondseeland can look forward to climate-friendly baby welcome boxes. They were initiated by the Climate and Energy Model Region (KEM) Mondseeland.
The KEM and the Mondseeland Family Association Center interviewed young mothers and experts. The result is, on the one hand, a KEM baby guide with lots of tips – not only from an ecological point of view, but also from a psychological and financial point of view.
Furthermore, the KEM baby welcome box was created. It not only contains the guide, but also numerous products that are climate-friendly and largely produced regionally. In addition to cloth diapers and baby pants that grow with the child, the box also contains reusable nursing pads, washcloths as an alternative to wet wipes, wool with crochet instructions and a crochet hook for a baby hood, a hiking book with babywearing tours, a grasping toy made from local wood, tomato seeds that are intended to motivate gardening, an energy-saving Poster and the “KEM Baby Climate Calculator” to calculate and improve your personal ecological footprint.
150 boxes were filled and made available to the communities in Mondseeland.
