Russian Roulette is a macabre game of chance played with a revolver. The weapon’s drum is loaded with just one cartridge – this is rotated, held to the head of a fellow player and the trigger is pulled. If the cartridge is in the appropriate position, a shot will be fired with most likely fatal consequences.

The two young people fantasized about playing the game with teachers and school colleagues via a messenger app. Photos of firearms were also exchanged. How specific the plans were, i.e. whether they would have had access to weapons, was initially unclear. According to the criminal code, the accused crime, criminal conspiracy, carries a sentence of six months to five years in prison – since the two are juveniles, the maximum sentence is reduced by half, i.e. to two and a half years.
