It is thanks to an attentive neighbor that the man was caught by the police and arrested. The woman was hanging out the laundry around 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon when she noticed the burglar in the neighboring house. She immediately called the police.
The officers were quickly on the scene and were able to observe the man rummaging through a box in the victim’s house. With their service weapons drawn, they directed the Hungarian out of the house. Because of his “uncooperative behavior,” the police used physical force to bring him to the ground, the police said in the evening.

The 43-year-old had cash and various small items that he had stolen from pensioners. The residents of the house, an 86-year-old man and his 84-year-old wife, had been in the house the entire time. They only realized something was wrong when the police arrived.
During his interrogation, the perpetrator, who had several previous convictions in his home country, confessed. He was taken to the Linz prison on the orders of the Linz public prosecutor, the police reported.
