The 18-year-old from Burgenland increased her previous points record from 13.200 to 13.566 points in the floor final and thus won the third of four Olympic qualifying World Cups. She won by a narrow margin of 33 thousandths of a point ahead of Vice World Champion Kaylia Nemour from Algeria.

“I can’t really believe it yet. Everything worked out today and I’m super happy. I would hardly have thought such a rating was possible before the start of the season,” said Mörz after her coup.

She comes from a family of athletes. The element “The Moerz” was named after her sister Alissa, who is also a gymnast. Her father Michael Mörz made twelve appearances for the Austrian national football team between 2005 and 2007.

Two Olympic starting places for Paris will be awarded for each device in the World Cup series. The three best results according to the points system count (a discard rating). Before the last World Cup in Doha (April 17-20), Mörz is currently in the lead with 80 points. Only the Filipino Emma Malabuyo (69 points in the Olympic rankings, fourth in Baku) could catch her at the top.
