A 19-year-old probationary driver’s license holder from the Wels-Land district and a man (27) from Linz were noticed by the civil patrol on Sunday afternoon because of their far too risky driving style: They were racing each other, driving next to each other and repeatedly stepping on the gas uncontrollably. According to the police officers’ measurements, they accelerated on average to 133 km/h instead of the permitted 70 km/h. Both drivers have now temporarily lost their driving licenses. They were banned from continuing their journey.

In Wels, too, officers pulled a driver out of traffic: Shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday, they caught a 30-year-old who was obviously driving while under drugs. The preliminary test was positive, and a doctor confirmed the Welser’s unfitness to drive during the clinical examination. He now has to hand over his driver’s license again – the man only recently got it back after it had already been revoked for driving with drugs.

All three drivers were reported.
