Only twelve municipalities in Mühlviertel with a vaccination rate of more than 70 percent

The Urfahr-Umgebung district is the clear vaccination stronghold of the Mühlviertel. In ten municipalities – according to data from yesterday’s Ministry of Health – more than 70 percent of the total population have a valid vaccination certificate. The front runner is Goldwörth with 77.04 percent, ahead of Puchenau with 76.27 percent. The district average for Urfahr-Umgebung is 69.13 percent, higher than in any other district in our state.

The vaccination rates in the other districts of the Mühlviertel have also increased slightly in the past few weeks. Perg ranks 65.48 percent, Freistadt 64.40 percent and Rohrbach 63.95 percent. If you take a look at the municipal data, outside of the Urfahr area, only Ulrichsberg (Rohrbach district, 71.78 percent) and Langenstein (Perg district, 71.11 percent) mastered the 70 percent hurdle. Of course, the 80 percent target nationwide is still a long way off everywhere.

The current community vaccination week, which is intended to motivate people today and tomorrow with registration-free offers for a Covid vaccination, is intended to provide a little relief. For this purpose, the four communities in the Untere Feldaist region (Hagenberg, Pregarten, Unterweitersdorf, Wartberg ob der Aist) have set up a vaccination campaign at the Bruckmühle cultural center. “Our vaccination route is a good addition to the vaccination activities of general practitioners in our communities,” emphasize the four mayors involved.

At the same time, a second fixed vaccination street for the Freistadt district started operating yesterday in the Bad Zell arena. Vaccinations are administered here – with an appointment – every day except Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12.20 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

In some communities, partnerships have been entered into with local associations. For example with the fire brigade: “Vaccination at the fire brigade” will be the motto tomorrow, for example in Altenberg near Linz and in Aigen-Schlägl.

Long night of vaccination

In Niederwaldkirchen in the Rohrbach district, the vaccination bus of the Province of Upper Austria will be working a night shift tomorrow: Vaccinations will be administered here on the market square from 6 to 11 p.m. Mayor Harald Haselmayr says about the campaign: “We were looking for a way to address the young people in our community in particular and to create an incentive tailored to them. The long night of the vaccination was practically obvious.” As a musician, Haselmayr has often helped to create theme nights. Now there is also one for coping with pandemics: “Extraordinary times often require extraordinary resources.”

“Perg vaccinates” is the motto tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the district sports hall in Perg. For those who do not want to get into their own car, the municipality has activated a free shuttle and pick-up service. To do this, it is necessary to register with the Perg-Shuttle in good time at 0664/51 43 136. (live)
