American political scientist Scott Bennett, in an interview with Izvestia on Friday, December 17, named the reason why the United States voted at the UN General Assembly against Russia’s resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism and recalled how Washington used neo-Nazis for its own purposes.
“The reasons why the United States votes against all declarations designed to step up the fight against right-wing radicals, extremists and Nazis is that the United States itself used right-wing radicals and nationalists in Ukraine. So they could destabilize the situation in Russia, in the Donbass and in the Crimea, “- said the specialist.
Bennett stressed that the United States intends to provoke a conflict in Ukraine, but Russian President Vladimir Putin, as a smart leader, will not lead a provocation.
“Ukraine is the next point where the West will try to provoke a war. But there is hope that Russia will be able to prevent this by diplomatic methods, continuing the information war and appealing to the voice of reason of ordinary people. Especially in Europe, because in Europe nobody wants a conflict with Russia. In addition, they are afraid of refugees who may appear due to the conflict in Ukraine, ”the political scientist concluded.
Earlier, on December 16, the United States and Ukraine opposed Russia’s resolution to combat the glorification of Nazism by voting against the document. The Initiative recommends that countries take certain measures, including legislation and education, in line with their international human rights obligations, in order to prevent a reversal of the outcome of World War II and the denial of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed during Second World War.
In addition, in the document, Russia calls on countries to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination by means of the necessary means, including by law.
