The government chose the investment platform OurCrowd, of Israeli origin, such as the accelerator of startups who will lead operations in the country, within the framework of the program Uruguay Innovation Hub (UIH).
This project seeks to generate an impact at the local level, unlike the one presented last January, as part of an initiative of the Alliance for Economic Prosperity of the Americas (APEP), that involves a strategy with regional scope.
In the agreement, UIH requires OurCrowd to have a local presence in the LATU Technology Park, as well as investing in startups based in the country. The platform Israeli was presented with a strategic alliance, which includes the local business incubators Ingenio of LATU and CIE, of the ORT University, as well as with the international organization Mana Tech.
The consortium “marks a significant milestone in the Uruguayan innovation ecosystem, opening new opportunities for the internationalization of local ventures and strengthening links at the national level,” they highlighted from Uruguay Innovation Hub.
