The boyfriend of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, star of the Spanish right, is denounced for tax fraud

The Spanish Prosecutor’s Office denounced the boyfriend of the president of the Madrid region and figure of the Spanish right, Isabel Díaz Ayusofor allegedly defrauding the treasury, according to a judicial document consulted by AFP.

This case, which involves Alberto González Amadorpartner of Díaz Ayuso, a prominent politician from the hard wing of the opposition Popular Party (PP, conservatives), was known days after the left-wing government was marred by another scandal that affected the advisor of a former socialist minister.

In its complaint, the Prosecutor’s Office indicates that González Amador would have presented false invoices to pay 350,000 euros less in taxes (382,000 dollars) for the activity of his company Maxwell Cremona Engineering and Processes Sociedad para el Fomento del Medioambiente SL, during the years 2020 and 2021.

A judge must now decide whether to accept the prosecution’s complaint for processing.

According to Diario.es, the publication that reported the news, the company was really dedicated to providing health services and multiplied its income during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The prosecutors began their investigation in January after receiving a report from the Tax Agency, which had detected that “said company, with the purpose of evading its taxation, given the increase in the volume of business that it had experienced in those years, carried out certain conducts, with the sole purpose of reducing said taxation”, can be read in the complaint from the Prosecutor’s Office.

Asked about the news, Ayuso assured on Tuesday that he only knew that his partner “was undergoing a Treasury inspection,” and accused the central government of “creating a plot where there is a tax inspection of a citizen who has nothing to do with the Community of Madrid.”

The government spokesperson, Pilar Alegría, considered for her part that the facts contained in the complaint are “very serious” and stated that it is “absolutely essential” that Ayuso gives “the appropriate explanations.”

The popular president of Madrid was already at the center of controversy two years ago when it was published that her brother earned commissions for mask purchase contracts granted by her government during the pandemic.

Ayuso assured that his brother did not commit any illegality and that the charge was for the efforts to obtain and transport the material.
