Preparations for the big state horticultural show next year in Schärding have been going on for some time. The starting signal for the intensive phase of preparation was given yesterday evening with a groundbreaking ceremony with State Agricultural Councilor Michaela Langer-Weninger, State Garden Show Managing Director Andrea Berghammer, Schärding Mayor Günter Streicher, City Councilor for Finance Paul Königsberger and organic gardener Karl Ploberger.
Under the motto “INNs Green” the city on the Inn will bloom from April 25th to October 5th, 2025. The total area of the state horticultural show is around 110,000 square meters.

“Center of the Innviertel”
“We want to take as much sustainability with us as possible for the future. The state garden show should bring momentum and positively revitalize the city for decades. This will make Schärding the center of the Innviertel,” says Schärding’s mayor Günter Streicher. “The Inn is as characteristic of Schärding as the green is of nature, and at the eighth state horticultural show both come together. The ‘INNs Grün’ is intended to be a celebration of nature, culture and the region,” said Michaela Langer-Weninger.

Andrea Berghammer, managing director of the Schärding State Garden Show, announced that Schärding will become an “experiencing destination for visitors from near and far”. The aim of a city tour is to make the sites of the future state horticultural show – the castle park, Innlände, Grüntal as well as the orangery and spa park – accessible and accessible. “Importance is placed on sustainable infrastructure such as children’s playgrounds, local recreation areas or relaxation areas,” said Berghammer.
