Results of the consultations: Economics Minister Martin Kocher is to lead a strategy process that focuses on the competitiveness of Austria and Europe. And there should be new funding for products “Made in Europe”. Above all, there was the loss of competitiveness of the European economy compared to China and the USA.

Funding should be implemented in Austria during this legislative period, according to the statements made by Chancellor Karl Nehammer (VP) and Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) as well as Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) after the deliberations. Brussels also wants to provide impetus in this direction.

Bonus for PV systems with European components

After the event, which was called at short notice and staged on a large scale, Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler announced that there would be a concrete bonus of up to ten percent for photovoltaic systems with European components – for example with inverters from Fronius. This should apparently apply to larger PV systems from 35 kilowatts, in addition to conventional investment support. A two-thirds majority is necessary for this.

In addition to Kogler, Kocher, Gewessler and Stelzer, the three heads of leading economic research institutes, Gabriel Felbermayr, Holger Bonin and Monika Köppl-Turyna, as well as Fronius boss Elisabeth Engelbrechtsmüller-Strauß and BMW Steyr managing director Stefan Pielmeier were present at the summit launched by Chancellor Nehammer , Ferdinand Steinhuber (S&S Steinhuber Sheet Metal Processing) and Walter Kreisel from neoom. The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Doris Hummer, and the head of the Austrian Industrial Association, Georg Knill, also took part.
