Syrian air defense destroyed seven of eight missiles fired by Israeli fighters at the Damascus international airport area. This was stated by the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria (CPVS) Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit on Thursday, December 16.
“On December 16, from 01:51 to 01:59, four Israeli Air Force F-16 tactical fighters from the airspace over the Golan Heights struck with eight cruise missiles at targets near the international airport of Damascus,” he said on the Russian Defense Ministry’s Facebook page.
It is noted that the Syrian air defense forces destroyed the Russian-made Pantsir-S missiles.
The airstrike killed one person and damaged a warehouse of tangible property.
On December 7, Israel launched an air attack on the port area of Latakia in Syria. As a result of the airstrike, several containers caught fire.
On November 24, airstrikes on the Syrian city of Homs killed two civilians and injured seven others. It was noted that material damage was also caused as a result of the airstrike.
