Fresh snow makes HTL lessons easier

The somewhat different teaching unit was moved to a snow-covered field last week. There, the tractors equipped with satellite-assisted technology could be used perfectly for a steering system training. “We used the first snow for this training with TOPCOn”, says the head of the agricultural and environmental technology department, Martin Anzengruber. This professional technology set was available to the HTL for a whole season. “It was set up by teachers and students and was able to be tested extensively,” said Anzengruber. On these first winter days, the HTL team was out and about with four different tractors to test the centimeter-accurate steering control. “A perfect precision farming simulation”, so the enthusiastic verdict.

Semi-autonomous driving is already being used in agriculture and, among other things, has advantages in terms of optimal use and enables soil-conserving and precise work.
