It was already a dark night when Sabine S. from Grieskirchen drove home from the horse stable on the B137 shortly after half past eight on Tuesday evening. “I was following a truck and suddenly saw lights flickering in the meadow out of the corner of my eye – but only very briefly, maybe for a second. Nevertheless, I knew straight away that something must have happened,” the 48-year-old told OÖN.
“Feeling hasn’t left me”
“The truck driver stopped and came to my car. Because he couldn’t turn around in his vehicle, he asked me to take another look.” The woman from Grieskirch then called the fire department and in the meantime drove back to the alleged accident site in the Taufkirchen municipality. But she couldn’t see anything there in the light of her headlamp. “But the strange feeling didn’t leave me. I knew that there was someone who needed help. And if I don’t stick with it now, they won’t be found.” Following this intuition, Sabine S. then reported the incident to the police at home. “At around 10 p.m. the officers called me and told me that they had actually found a seriously injured woman.”
Overturned by car
According to the police, the 31-year-old driver from Neumarkt in the Hausruckkreis had left the road for unknown reasons and had probably rolled over with her car. The police found the seriously injured person 40 meters from the B137 and immediately began first aid measures. The car was 60 meters away. The 31-year-old, whose driver’s license was revoked before the accident, was taken to hospital.
