Man wanted to get out of the “rocker club”: beaten, blackmailed

In the end, his former cronies pressed him several thousand euros “exit fee”. After his ordeal, the man turned to the police, who have been investigating all six suspects since October. Four are in custody and two have been reported at large.

The “club” was not an offshoot of the well-known international rocker gangs, and with the conclusion of the official act, the criminalists were pretty sure that they might have blown up the whole local “chapter”: apparently there were no more members, reported police spokesman Christopher Verhnjak on APA request. Even if not numerically significant, the self-proclaimed “rockers” were not squeamish in their methods.

“When the man wanted to leave the association, he was said to have been held in an apartment by the members for several hours,” said spokesman. The suspects between the ages of 23 and 37, all except one stateless person with Austrian citizenship, “are said to have threatened and beaten the victim in mid-September and forced them to humiliate them to perform inhumane acts”. Only after hours of ordeal was the man released.

The Vienna Public Prosecutor issued arrest orders for the accused. They were arrested at their home addresses with the support of special forces from Cobra and WEGA. The spokesman reported that all had previously been “suspicious by the police”. During the first questioning, they made partial confessions. The allegations are of severe coercion, imprisonment and extortion.
