The 27-year-old forestry worker from the Rohrbach district was hit by a tree that had already been felled in a sloping forest property in the Nößlbach area (Rohrbach municipality) and was seriously injured.

The accident occurred on Friday around 1:15 p.m. The forestry worker had connected two felled trees with a chain so that they could be pulled down with a harvester. He gave the okay to the driver of the heavy machine, which then started moving along with the trees. One of the tree trunks probably got wedged, turned and hit the forest worker who was walking alongside in the body. This is how the police describe the accident.
