At around 8 a.m. the apartment owner, 54, who according to initial information lives alone, went to work. Before that he had smoked a cigarette. The police have not yet been able to reveal how and where the man failed to locate them properly. The stump quickly caught fire and it spread quickly. According to police, the apartment burned down completely.

50 firefighters on duty
The Hörsching, Rutzing and Breitbrunn volunteer fire departments were deployed with 7 vehicles and 50 personnel. The Red Cross evacuated 9 people from the building, which also contains other apartments. According to police, no one was injured.
The mayor had the building closed by the building authorities.
