“Child malnutrition is spreading rapidly and is reaching unprecedented levels in Gaza“said the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in a message on social media.
More than five months into Israel’s air and ground campaign in Gaza, triggered by a Hamas attack on October 7, much of the enclave lies in ruins, with most of its 2.3 million residents displaced and facing a serious humanitarian crisis.
Gaza hospitals have reported the deaths of some children from malnutrition and dehydration.

They ask for more humanitarian aid in Gaza
Western countries have called on Israel to do more to allow aid in, and the UN has said it faces “overwhelming obstacles” including border crossing closures, burdensome checkpoints, movement restrictions and unrest inside Gaza. .
Israel affirms that it does not place limits on humanitarian aid for the civilian population of Gaza and attributes the slowness in the delivery of aid to the inability or ineffectiveness of UN agencies.
Aid deliveries by air and sea have begun in Gaza, but aid agencies say they are not a substitute for the arrival of supplies by land.
