As the Aargau cantonal police told the APA, there were around 100 people at the “Junge Tat” event. The police intervened because the event was not completed even though the landlord had terminated the contract knowing the content of the event.
“To ensure public safety and prevent confrontations with people on the opposing side, the speaker at the event was stopped and turned away from the canton,” the statement said, referring to Sellner. The police were also able to prevent political opponents from arriving.
Sellner tried to use the incident for propaganda purposes in a video shared on social media. Using the term for the violent pushback of migrants, he spoke of a “push-back” in the video, which showed him in a good mood in the back seat of a car. He made fun of the cantonal police’s deportation notice by holding a piece of paper with the borders of the eastern Swiss canton in red into the camera. At the same time, he thanked the neighboring canton of Zurich, where he was apparently traveling, for welcoming him. “Today you made the idea of remigration world famous in the canton of Aargau. Many thanks to the Kapo,” he said, referring to the cantonal police.

The term “remigration” means nothing other than the violent mass deportation of people whose right of residence has been denied. This doesn’t just mean illegal migrants, but also legal immigrants or even naturalized people who don’t like right-wing extremists like Sellner. Sellner also promoted his idea last November at a meeting with high-ranking right-wing extremists, including politicians from the right-wing populist “Alternative for Germany” (AfD). As a result, there were mass demonstrations against right-wing extremism in numerous German cities, but also in Austria. In Austria, leading FPÖ politicians support Sellner’s ideas.
