As the Vienna fire department announced in the morning, she was found lifeless in the fire apartment with burns on her upper body, arms and facial area. The emergency services tried to resuscitate the woman, but she succumbed to her serious injuries on the spot.
The fire department was alerted at 10:50 p.m. When the forces arrived at the apartment building on Lorystrasse, some of the residents had already left the building. The fire department was on duty with six vehicles and 27 people.
The woman is “most likely” the resident of the apartment, the executive reported on Sunday. According to police, an autopsy has already been initiated to determine the cause of death. However, there is currently no evidence of foul play. The State Criminal Police Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
Just the day before there was a basement fire in Vienna-Simmering, which resulted in a high-rise residential complex having to be evacuated. In this case, the police are investigating arson.
