The man from the Linz-Land district ordered fake Bosnian corona vaccination certificates for twelve friends and acquaintances in the summer. He brought the cards produced in Bugojno (Bosnia and Herzegovina) to Traun in October, the police reported on Friday. The man paid only a small amount per card and redistributed them free of charge. A customer ordered four more counterfeits from the 25-year-old and sold two of them on.
The fraud was discovered by a doctor from the Linz-Land district: when five owners of the false vaccination certificates wanted to have their alleged corona vaccinations entered in the European vaccination pass, he noticed the falsifications and filed a complaint with the police.
The police were able to secure eight forged vaccination certificates, and four of the accused disappeared, according to the police.
