The gunman demanded that the employee hand over all the money and then injured her in the head and upper body. She fled on foot, and an alarm search was initially unsuccessful, the Styria State Police Department informed.

The woman armed with a knife entered the tobacconist’s shop at around 4:30 a.m. with a balaclava on her head and stormed to the cash desk. She threw a plastic bag at the employee, threatened her with the knife, demanded cash and urged her to put “coins” in the bag. When she accepted the money, she stabbed her in the upper body and head and told the woman to “not call the police.” The 35-year-old was stabbed and cut and suffered severe shock. She was taken to the LKH Rottenmann.

The suspect is said to be between 160 and 165 centimeters tall and of slim build. The woman wearing glasses spoke German with a Styrian dialect and was probably a smoker. The dark-haired person was wearing a black hooded jacket or sweater, black pants and similar shoes with white soles. Information was requested to the Styrian State Criminal Police Office, 059133/60-3333. Criminal investigators from the Styria State Criminal Police Office took over the investigation.
