Supply is in danger due to forceful measures in Conaprole

The president of ConaproleGabriel Fernández, gave his opinion on the forceful measures that they decided to carry out from the Association of Workers and Employees of Conaprole asking for a recategorization of employees in four sectors of the company; He stated that it could affect the supply of dairy products in the market.

The cooperative’s union demands the recategorization of four sectors – trade, monthly, laboratory and factory – while its last update is from October 2010. As explained Luis Goicochea, spokesperson for the union, to Channel 10, “the company continues to refuse” to negotiate the workers’ proposal, a reason that led to the decision to implement tasks according to regulations and two hours of unemployment per day, one to hold assemblies and another at the end of the shift.

Conaprole’s position

Faced with this, the president of the cooperative, Gabriel Fernandezassured, in dialogue with Radio Carve, that this measure would most likely affect the delivery of all the products of Conaprole in the market.

On the other hand, the president assured that the salaries of the employees of Conaprole It is above the average for the sector, even the average for the entire workplace and that the majority is updated by CPI and there are even salary recomposition clauses. “A general recategorization of 800 employees just because the last time it was done was ten years ago, when in the middle of those ten years the salary part has been permanently worked on, is totally unfounded,” he assured.

Furthermore, Fernández recalled that the other side of the sector, the producers, are not going through a good economic time, so the strikes affect that part of the chain. Meanwhile, the president also brought up the fact that international milk prices are not at an optimal time either.

“Dairy workers are having a hard time and the price of milk arises from the profitability of the cooperative. Conaprole It closes at zero and is non-profit, it is all at the producer’s price. Furthermore, in the rest of the dairy industries there are delays in salaries and layoffs,” he assured.

The concern of the dairy farmers

After the announcement of the force measures, the tamberos They expressed their concern about the fate of the cooperative. “Unfortunately, these issues must be addressed; regular work with rotating strikes has already been confirmed. Once again we are faced with situations that make the producer’s situation even more complex,” said the director of the company. National Association of Milk Producers (ANPL), César De León, to El País.

Regarding the recategorization, De León assured that “what is being proposed is very illogical, when we all know the working conditions and salaries that exist in “Conaprole”. “Everything that does not go at the price of milk and is derived elsewhere is a lower price for production,” he added.

The ANPL It will hold its annual meeting next Tuesday at the headquarters on Magallanes Street. “The idea is to present the numbers, see how the year closed, be able to listen to our partners, and there will be a technical talk about the countercyclical fund that the association is promoting,” said the manager.
