The organizers of the 52nd Linz Car Spring are delighted. “The interest was sensational”says trade fair president Michael Schmidt. A large crowd of people formed in front of the Design Center when the car show opened on Saturday. “I have rarely experienced that”says trade fair spokesman Ernest Wipplinger. The high crowds continued on Sunday. A total of over 14,000 visitors were counted – 2,000 more than the previous year.
The visitors didn’t just come to look: “Our audience was very motivated to buy this year”says Wipplinger. “Many people already knew what they wanted and used the trade fair to find out about the details.”

There were 200 new cars at this year’s car spring, around 30 percent of which were electric cars. But there was also strong demand for partially electrified vehicles and combustion engines. One of the “Highlights” was the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 – the most expensive exhibit at a price of 288,519 euros.

Charging stations “always full”
A “great success” The 20 electric charging stations were also made available to visitors for the first time, says Michael Schmidt. The managing director of the car dealer Höglinger-Denzel has also been president of the car spring since 2019. Although e-mobility continues to experience high demand, he is again observing a trend towards combustion engines. In general, buyers would pay more attention to environmental aspects and would therefore prefer climate-friendly models with low consumption.
