Flames extinguished in refinery

The flames at the refinery in the Krasnodar region were extinguished after a major fire department operation and one person suffered a fatal heart attack in the impact, the Russian state news agency Tass reported on Sunday. The refinery, which only went into operation in 2013, processes around four million cubic meters of oil annually, making it the 30th largest Russian oil processing company.

Ukraine has been fending off a large-scale Russian invasion for over two years and is now increasingly bringing the war back to Russia with combat drones. Recently, Russian oil refineries have increasingly been targeted. The refinery in Syzran in the Volga region of Samara was only hit on Saturday night. According to official information, the fire could only be extinguished on Sunday morning and caused serious damage.

Russia reported shooting down 35 drones

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the downing of 35 drones. There was initially no official confirmation of the report about the alleged occupation of an administrative building by Russian paramilitaries fighting on the side of Kiev.
