The “Camp-Boks” from the Euratsfeld carpentry factory elicited at least one appreciative “Oh là là!” from Eveline Steinberger, tycoon of Austrian environmental technology. Whether she or another business angel will join “CampBoks GmbH” as an investor will be revealed on Tuesday evening in the start-up show “2 Minutes 2 Million” (Puls4, 8:15 p.m.).
85 built-in boxes with integrated water tank, gas cooker and refrigerator are already on the way to campsites across Europe in vans of all car brands. 250 customers are on the waiting list. “We want to halve the delivery time of ten months,” says Lothar Gallistl. The 24-year-old from Bad Ischl and his school friend at the HTL in Hallstatt, Paul Schneider (23) from Euratsfeld, thought about going into business after graduating with a new product made of wood. “We then developed a system that allows you to pack all your camping equipment into a car in a single box.” With just a few simple steps, holiday drivers can now install the complete box, which contains a sleeping area, kitchen and bench, into their van and store it in the garage like a piece of furniture when they return home. The car can then be used as a normal transporter again.
The product innovation of the two HTL graduates, which is protected by patents, has already convinced the jury of the “Gründerland Lower Austria”, which awarded Schneider and Gallistl second prize and honored the two as “Founder of the Month” in October 2023. Now the young entrepreneurs see the time as ripe for the next step. Next month, manufacturing capacity will be doubled and marketing expanded, for which they are willing to take an investor on board.
The TV station Puls4 usually does not communicate how the presentation of the “CampBoks” went during the recording for today’s show in order not to anticipate the tension. “We are very satisfied with the development so far,” says Schneider. A showroom has been set up at the Senker car dealership in Amstetten in cooperation with the Mostviertel VW dealer. “The CampBoks also fit just as well in vans from other manufacturers,” notes Gallistl. The current number of two employees is expected to be doubled. “We need skilled workers,” says Schneider.
