Real estate prices registered a strong annual variation of 20.59% during 2023

The prices of the estate had a positive variation of 20.29% during 2023, closing a year where the amount of purchase and sale registrations was also higher, reaching 11.7%, according to the Real Estate Activity Indicators (IAI), which prepares the INE.

The study, which uses data from the National Registry Directorate, showed that the median of the values ​​was located at 84,413.28 dollars, well above the 70,000 that they cost during the same month of 2022, reflecting the changes and trends of investment in real estate.

Regarding the purchase and sale registrations in January, there was a sharp monthly drop of 47.72% compared to December, with a total of 3,103 units. In fact, 68.51% of the total transactions were of this type, followed by Priority Reservations, with 28.84% of the total.

Of the total purchase and sale registrations, 30.81% belong to the city of Montevideo, followed far by 20.79% of Maldonado and 12.28% of cannelloni completing the podium. Further back they appear Cologne, with 5.64%; and Rocha, with 5.45%.

The improvement is in line with what happened with the rentals in the capital of Uruguay, an indicator that also showed an upward trend last year.
