Exercise scenarios with a total of around 250 people included fires in the new section 10, which will open in June 2024, and in the heating center of section 14, people trapped in two elevators and a traffic accident at the intersection of Ringstrasse/Salzburger Strasse. The volunteer fire departments of Braunau, Simbach, Haselbach, Aching, Ranshofen, Burgkirchen, Mauerkirchen, Mining, St. Peter am Hart, Mitternberg and the AMAG company fire department with a total of around 200 firefighters took part in the exercise. Federal police, city police, the Red Cross, various exercise observers and hospital employees were also there.

“This fire brigade exercise was very important for us and is required by law. From a fire protection perspective, we can now open our new building 10 to our patients and our employees with a clear conscience. My first impression was that everything went very well,” says Anton Ober, the fire protection officer at the Braunau Hospital.
Klaus Litzlbauer, commander of the FF Braunau, spoke of a “very successful large-scale exercise”. Everything happened quickly and professionally. “In a debriefing we will go through all the details of the exercise again in detail so that we are optimally prepared in an emergency,” says Litzlbauer.
