In front of cheering fans, he unveiled a star on the famous “Walk of Fame” in Hollywood on March 12th, and on August 11th the American rock star Lenny Kravitz will be a guest at the OÖN concert summer at Burg Clam.
Tickets for the concert event with the star, whose appearance at the open-air spectacle would have been planned in the Corona year 2020, are available from 10 a.m. today. The master of deep soul rock’n’roll and four-time Grammy winner has also made a name for himself as a writer, producer, actor and designer.
The son of a Ukrainian-Jewish television producer who promoted jazz concerts and a Bahamian-African-American actress, he grew up with jazz, soul, blues and gospel, but also classical music.
After the family moved to Los Angeles, he also discovered the world of rock music, which would shape him from then on. Soul, funk and reggae can also be found in his music, which the 59-year-old has recorded on eleven albums. His new, twelfth album “Blue Electric Light” is scheduled to be released on May 24th on Roxie Records.
A voice for peace
As a multi-instrumentalist, Kravitz not only sings all the voices on his albums, but also plays all the instruments.
In 2008 he lent his voice to the former US President: He sang the election campaign song for Barack Obama – and with the Iraqi singer Kazim as-Sahir the anti-war song “We Want Peace”. You could also meet the rock star on the big screen in the cinema: in the novel adaptations of “The Hunger Games” he can be seen in the two parts “The Hunger Games” and “Catching Fire”. Last year he played the bride’s ex-fiancé in “Shotgun Wedding – A Tough Team”.
