“We State Artists” with Florian Scheuba, Robert Palfrader and Thomas Maurer can be seen this evening at 7.30 p.m. in the Working World Museum. With their current program “Old Dogs – New Tricks” the nation’s three chief political satirists are actively intervening in the political competition in the Republic of Austria for the first time.
Can satire make a difference? “A look into the past helps here. Since the beginning of historiography, satire has achieved nothing,” say Thomas Maurer, Robert Palfrader and Florian Scheuba: “And we want to continue this tradition with our heads held high.”
But will they succeed? Especially since the “state artists” could actively intervene in the political competition in the Republic of Austria for the first time with their brand new program. What goals are they pursuing with this? An end to the crazy soil sealing in our country? The establishment of a “coordination office for systemic advertising corruption and promotion of tabloid democracy”? Holding regular community meetings in Steirereck?
The answers to that will be available tonight. Tickets are available at museumarbeitswelt.at/shop
