Lara Gut-Behrami has secured the next crystal ball. The Swiss overall World Cup winner did not give up her comfortable lead in the Super-G classification at the final in Saalbach. For the 32-year-old, seventh place was enough to make everything clear.
Before the showdown, Cornelia Hütter still had a mathematical chance of winning the ball, but for that she would have needed a win or a second place and a corresponding fall from Gut-Behrami. That wasn’t the case. The Styrian took fifth place immediately behind Stephanie Venier.
The day’s victory went to the Czech Olympic champion Ester Ledecka, who prevailed 28 hundredths ahead of Federica Brignone (Ita) and three tenths ahead of Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (Nor).
