Because the mountain bike trail over the “Moarwiesn” on the Pöstlingberg is rather demanding, the offer has now been expanded to include an alternative route that is less steep and therefore easier to ride.

EU funding for alternative route

The expansion was financed by the EU’s Leader program, implemented by the Granitland association. The city of Linz also supported the project. The funds were used to make signs, print maps and install markers. The signs were put up by volunteer mountain bikers. “The opening of this new alternative route on Pöstlingberg is an important step towards improving cycling in general“To further promote our city and make it more accessible,” says sports officer Vice Mayor Karin Hörzing (SP).
